Ferbruary 2011

Now the two MATRIX paintings are really coming together, plus I've been doing a number of related works on paper. It's good when you get on a creative roll.

January 2011

By January 27th 2011 I had installed an additional 2KW heater which along with the other heater, warmed up the studio beautifully.

Entro 27 gen 2011 avevo installato un riscaldatore supplementare 2KW che, insieme con il riscaldatore altro, scaldato lo studio splendidamente.

Studio Before Christmas 2010

The winter of 2010 proved to be the coldest on record for one hundred years, and I chose this time to move into the studio! Note the woefully inadequate 1.5KW 'Screwfix' oil filled radiator. It didn't heat the room up much, but it did a fair job of softening oil paint tubes, frozen by the cold!

Starting work on MATRIX FOUR concurrently with MATRIC THREE.

Starting work on MATRIX THREE.

Two smaller boards get primed. When you are using paint it is good to see what else can be primed while you're at it!

The two four by four feet boards that will eventually become MATRIX THREE & FOUr have been primed.

Studio Environment December 2010

Moving stuff in. The cardboard box contains an American lockable metal tool vault.

The leather sofa I bought on ebay for thirty six pounds. Bargain!

The meeting and upper chillout area.

The kitchen and lower chillout area.

The communial kitchen. Originally there was a kettle that matched the microwave, but somebody stole it.

The view from the kitchen across the Thames towards the Tate & Lyle sugar refinery. Whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, I can watch the raw sugar being unloaded from the ships.

The view up river towards the Thames Barrier.

The Trinity Wharf building.

Looking upwards towards my studio window on the upper floor.

Another variation of the same view.

Looking back towards the main entrance to the site. Somehow this reminds me of a 'Thunderbirds' set!
